Tas Otel was the first boutique hotel to open in Alacati in 2001, owner Zeynep Ozis gave up her marketing career to realise her childhood dream. This sympathetically restored 130-year old mansion has been featured in travel press worldwide and is loved by all that stay here. The team of five dynamic staff, many of whom have been here since the hotel's opening, are always on hand to make your stay at Tas Otel unforgettable.
Open all year round Tas Otel is not only a great choice for you and your family (children over 12 accepted in certain rooms), but it's also a great low season option for when children have gone back to school. The Tas Otel family includes resident dogs and cats.
The kitchen at Tas Otel is an open one, large, with an open fireplace and a traditional one. There's never a quiet moment in here and you'll see figs being peeled for fig jam, homemade lemonade being made and smell the aroma of freshly baked cakes, made every day. Breakfast, served between 8.30 and 11 am is the focus of the day and is a feast fit for a king. Freshly squeezed orange juice, five homemade jams, freshly ground coffee, Turkish bread & bagels, olives and vegetables from the garden, fresh cheeses and eggs from the village is just a taster!
The 9 charming air-conditioned rooms at Tas Otel all have high wooden ceilings, fine Turkish towels and bathrobes. The windows are double-glazed and draped with handmade linen curtains. Bathrooms feature rain showers and bath and body products. Pool and beach towels are provided. Children over 12 are accepted in certain rooms. Pool and beach towels are provided.
Most guests at Tas Otel come to soak up the charm and atmosphere of the place and relax by the pool or head to one of the beaches. Alacati is in the narrowest part of the Cesme peninsula and so has some of the best sandy beaches in Turkey. Some have beach clubs, great for the young, others are deserted, all are within 20 minutes of the hotel. Windsurfers should head to the south to the Çark beach and the windsurfing clubs.
If you prefer to travel during low season then head to Tas Otel in October and experience the magic of the olive harvesting in the olive grove just 10 minutes away. Some of the trees are more than 200 years old and bear the fruit of 'hurma' olives which are the only example of their kind in the world and edible from the tree without any processing. You can taste the olive oil at breakfast, it's delicious.
Free parking is available.
