With so many great hotels in one region, it’s hard to choose where to stay in Cappadocia. The majority offer the experience of sleeping in a cave-like room, come with great views and lovely service. The Kayakapi has it all – cavernous, softly lit cave rooms are the right side of romantic, staff are fantastic and the setting magnificent.
What makes this one different, however, is it's rather special history as one of the first settlement zones, now carefully renovated and boasting a collection of newly appointed Rooms, Suites and Mansions set across the neighbourhood.
This is a fancier, pricier option for your stay in Cappadocia but that’s reflected in the quality of the amenities. If you’re here in summer, having that spacious stretch of pool is a real treat, as is the top class hammam (Turkish Bath) which will warm you up in the cooler winter months. The food is excellent, too. All the benefits of a big hotel without losing any of the intimacy.
Breakfast is served and is included in most room rates (see detail below). The poolside Maide Restaurant serves lunch and dinner whilst the smaller Bistro Manzara offers snacks throughout the day.
The 36 rooms are dotted across the restored village with some requiring a bit of a walk, though the lovely staff are on hand to assist with golf buggies, if needs be. There are a range of room types available, with no two the same and the pricier nigh on palatial with multiple rooms and some even boasting private pools and saunas.
There is a lovely swimming pool that offers welcome respite from the summer heat (only open seasonally). If you're here to relax, the Kayakapi Spa has a range of massage and beauty treatments available along with a sauna, hammam and small gym.
Located about 5-minutes walk from Ürgüp town centre within the realms of Göreme National Park, the hotel is well placed to explore and offers wonderful views out across Cappadocia. Riding, hot air ballooning and other tours can also be arranged by the hotel staff.
