Sitting in south Surrey, The Swan Inn at Chiddingfold is a stylish pub with rooms within easy reach of London. A great place to eat, drink, meet and relax, this Home Counties hideaway is perfect for a mid-week break, a night away for business, a golf trip or a weekend outing.
Behind the relaxed and informal atmosphere, The Swan Inn has a talented chef at the helm and a focused team who mean business. The menu is built around local, seasonal produce, meaning the dishes change on a weekly basis.
Depending on the time of year, enjoy a drink out on the three-tiered terrace or by the crackling fire before feasting on delights such as smoked duck with rocket, cherry tomatoes and balsamic glaze, caramelised onion tart with feta, sweet pea risotto with soft poached egg, or classics such as sirloin steak with triple cooked chips, sausage and mash, and gammon. And their Sunday lunches are first-rate too.
If you're looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion book the private dining room – it seats 40 and is perfect for birthdays, groups, or even company events.
The 11 country-chic bedrooms are decked out in warm tones and checkered pattern throws. All feature air-conditioning, Nespresso coffee machines, Algotherm toiletries, and Egyptian cotton linen.
As well as being in a prime position to explore Surrey from, West Sussex and the south coast are also within easy driving distance. The Goodwood Revival and Festival of Speed take place at the Goodwood Estate – just a half an hour drive away – and shopping expeditions can be made to nearby Guildford and Chichester. There's lots to do and see right on the doorstep too, from hot air ballooning and exploring the Ramster Garden to the pay and play golf course just down the road in Chiddingfold. For those who fancy swinging their club somewhere a little more acclaimed, the championship golf courses of Sunningdale and Wentworth are within an hour of the inn, and award-winning Cowdray Park Club is even closer. Garden lovers should head to the National Trust's Winkworth Arboretum, or RHS Wisley, one of the world's finest gardens and about 25 minutes away. Petworth House, immortalised by Turner in his paintings and landscaped by Capability Brown is also worth a visit if you have time.
