The white façade gives way to surprising interiors that bring colour and a touch of glamour to this quiet corner of Portugal.
You’re in the heart of the countryside nestled between two national parks, so there are plenty of lovely walking options, and there's even kayaking nearby if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous. But realistically, you could quite easily spend all day in the shade of an orange tree, or beside the pool with a book.
Dining
A tasty breakfast is included in most room rates and can be enjoyed out on the terrace in warmer weather.
The restaurant overlooks the garden and serves a seasonal menu at lunch and dinner that's high quality but without pretension. There's also a bar by the pool – conveniently placed for a refreshing drink.

Activities
There's a lovely outdoor pool surrounded by orange and olive trees to lounge around as well as a tranquil spa, and guests can also relax in the lounge area, or read a book in the adjoining reading room. There are plenty of things to do and see in the nearby area including visits to the waterfalls in Fraga da Pena, walks in the 350-hectare Mata de Magaraça, and trips to Piódão, a historic (and pretty) village. Horse riding or mountain biking through the local villages and woods is a lovely way to spend a morning.

The bedroom is huge, with a super size, super comfy bed.Jack and Ana are great hosts with great attention to detail.The food is delicious (Ana is a great cook).Because we went there on separate dates they even ensured that we did not repeat the same dishes.The swimming pool has a good size and at the end of the day swallows come to drink there :)Everything was clean spotless.

Quinta da Palmeira is a wonderful place. It has great and big rooms, delicious dinner and breakfasts, amazing places in the direct vicinity and the most important; friendly staff. I just cannot wait to have another opportunity to visit this place! We surly come back soon!
