Only when you book with Chic
Escape the bustle of the city centre with a stay at Marignolle Relais and Charme, a country estate high in the hills above Florence. Not only do you get stunning views of the city and its iconic domes, but after a hectic day exploring the city you’ll be able to unwind in the tranquility of this chic hideaway. The décor is traditional and aristocratic, but has a comfortable, personal feel thanks to the attention of the former owner-designer, Paola Bulleri, who has selected many of the furnishings herself.
The quiet garden is home to a small pool, and is shaded by cypress, strawberry, broom and pine, making it a real sanctuary in the summer months. Marignolle Relais and Charme is the ideal retreat for those who want to experience the beauty of Renaissance Florence without the bustle and traffic of the modern city.
Breakfast is served in the bright conservatory, and is an impressive spread featuring local marmalades, breads, freshly baked rolls, hot croissants and delicious homemade cakes. Savoury dishes such as eggs can be made to order, and it is all served with courtesy and professionalism on elegant porcelain and silverware.
There is no restaurant, however there are many fantastic local eateries close to the hotel, and the helpful team will be more than happy to direct you to their favourites, and to assist with any reservations that might be needed.
Marignolle Relais and Charme has just six rooms and three suites, all furnished with antique furniture, sumptuous fabrics and fine upholstery. Rooms are soundproofed for maximum peace and quiet.
Relax in the landscaped gardens, where the air is heavy with the scent of lavender and rosemary, or sunbathe on the patio with fantastic views of Florence. It’s a real treat to be able to take a splash in the seasonal pool (open May to October) after a hot day spent exploring the city streets.
The countryside location means that this Chic Retreat is great for walks and hikes, but you’re also only five kilometres from the historic centre of Florence, with its wealth of art galleries, museums and fine Renaissance architecture. For those who love shopping, your hosts can organise a visit to the outlets of the finest of Italian fashion designers where you'll find Armani, Sergio Rossi, Yves Sant Laurent and Prada among other famous names. Foodies can take cookery lessons with Paola who will show you how to cook some of the best in traditional regional cuisine. For golfers, the helpful staff will book green-fees for one of 4 great courses in the area located a 20-45 minutes drive away. With so much on offer, you’re free to do as much or as little as you wish.
