Activities
The location of the White Hart is perfect if you're after weekend of walking the South Downs Way. If you like Downton Abbey and period dramas then you may be interested in visiting Uppark, a 17th-century National Trust house located just down the road. English author H G Wells spent many of his early years there, where his mother was the housekeeper.
Just a 20-minute drive away is Goodwood Racecourse, home to Glorious Goodwood and one of the most beautiful courses in the world. And the motorsport festivals Revival and Festival of Speed take place at the Motor Circuit, which is also set within the 12,000-acre estate.
A similar distance away is the cathedral city of Chichester; the church itself is home to contemporary and medieval art including some very rare sculptures.

South Harting is in West Sussex, just over the county border from Petersfield in Hampshire. The village is reached via the B2146 and is close to Uppark House and Gardens.

  Another excellent pub from Upham Inns. If we're not in the Thomas Lord we can be found here. Very welcoming service from; Bob, Sophie, Lynn and the team, very family friendly too! Great local ales and wonderful food.... only bettered by Bob's waistcoats !

  We stayed at The White Hart 3 nights. The place is great, good food, friendly staff, very nice, clean and cosy room. Very private too. Great value for money.It has also on site parking, and the location is wonderful if you are visiting the Southdowns.Definitely a place to repeat.

  Excellent food and service. Covid guideline were adhered to without fail. The plant burger was brilliant, I'd recommend it to anyone to try! You wouldn't believe it's not meat. There's limited parking round the back to be quick

  Lovely pub and fantastic food. Very friendly staff who make you feel very welcome. Rooms are well kitted out, comfortable and modern. There was a bit of noise early in the morning with pub goings on (deliveries or something) but aside from that it was great.

  Pub was nicely set up for dogs and the beds were comfy. We enjoyed our food as well.The staff were a bit hit and miss overall and not the best communication with us about food and drink service timings.The small rooms are very small especially if you have a dog with you. Spend the extra bit for the larger space!
