Housed in a converted tannery, this family-run boutique hotel offers an interesting and historic base for your trip to Puglia. Many of the building’s original features can still be seen about the place and the old tannery, adjacent to the hotel, now plays host to a museum and art space, exhibiting work by local artists.
The 10 rooms are each individually designed and there is a lovely terrace up on the roof – the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening sun.
Children are welcome with space in some rooms for a cot or additional rollaway bed (extra charge applies) and babysitting is available. Small pets are allowed at the hotel by prior arrangement (extra charge applies) and dogsitting is available on request.
Breakfast is included in most room rates (see details below). Though there is no restaurant on site, you are spoilt for choice nearby.
The 10 rooms all open out onto a charming courtyard and are large, comfortable and tastefully designed. Most feature handcrafted furnishings that sit nicely alongside the high, vaulted ceilings and exposed stonework.
Pretty Maglie is a great place from which to explore the delights of Puglia’s south with both the Adriatic and Ionian coastlines and the city of Lecce all a 30/35-minute drive away. Maglie also has a real charm of its own and the hotel lies in the historic centre with its Baroque architecture, cafés and restaurants.
Back at the hotel, beauty treatments can be arranged on request and there are meeting facilities available should you be looking for a destination away-day. The charming staff can also arrange car, bicycle and boat rental, along with guided tours and access to nearby sports facilities including tennis, golf, sailing and horse riding.
