Just off fashionista-favourite Via Condotti, a stone’s throw from the Spanish Steps, JK Place Rome is a discreet boutique hotel with one of the most stylish interiors in Italy, let alone Rome. Designer Michele Bönan has crafted an extraordinary atmosphere of sophisticated luxury, so reminiscent of the Dolce Vita elegance of the 1950s and 60s that you’ll spend your stay half-expecting Audrey Hepburn to stroll in through the front door.
The hotel’s library and lounge are comfortable spots to relax in after a day spent exploring the sights and boutique shops of the Eternal City. The JK Café serves an enjoyable blend of Roman classics and American diner-style bites, while the bar serves an excellent range of classic and bespoke cocktails. Elegant, sophisticated, and heartbreakingly stylish, JK Place Rome is a superb hideaway for a romantic Roman holiday.
Choose from a range of savoury and sweet dishes for breakfast; paired with strong coffee and freshly-squeezed fruit juices, it’s the perfect start to the day.
The JK Café, decked with Fifties photography and abstract sculptures, offers American-style diner dishes such as burgers and club sandwiches. The JK Burger is a particular treat; alternatively, opt for one of the more traditional dishes such as the divine cacio e pepe: spaghetti glistening with a sauce of pecorino cheese, black pepper, and crispy octopus.
For a pre-dinner treat, enjoy one of JK Place’s bespoke cocktails, either at the wood-panelled bar, or on one of the retro-style brass tables.
Bedrooms feature bespoke canopied rosewood beds, wood-panelled walls, and en-suite marble bathrooms. Walls are done up in tasteful hues ranging from soft grey to a bright, petrol-green. While some of the entry-level rooms can come up a bit small, the Master Room offers truly luxurious space, an increasingly rare commodity in Rome.
Brush up on your knowledge of Renaissance artwork, or scroll through glamorous photos of Rome during the Hollywood on the Tiber heydays in JK Place’s comfortable library. Located just a short distance from the Spanish Steps, you’re well-placed to explore everything the Eternal City has to offer. Channel your inner Anita Eckberg at the Trevi Fountain, just a ten-minute walk from the hotel, or stroll along the beautifully-landscaped gardens surrounding the Borghese Villa, home to stunning works by Caravaggio, amongst others. If the hotel’s deluxe décor inspires you to bring a slice of Italian design home with you, head to Via Condotti where you’ll find boutiques representing the very best of Italian fashion and style.
