A glittering jewel among Venice’s top boutique hotels, the Bauer Palladio Hotel & Spa is owned by the legendary Francesca Bortolotto Possati, who is as passionate about stylish hospitality as the city she calls home. She's also the only female hotelier in Venice and one of the most respected. This former 16th-century convent was built by Andrea Palladio, and Francesca has thoughtfully renovated the building to create a romantic, luxury hotel with an elegant Venetian style.
The hotel is complemented by the contemporary design of the holistic wellness spa, with its calming interiors of lavender and pastel green. The exterior looks out to to the waters at the front and to the rear, there is a peaceful garden courtyard where you can enjoy a treat from the café, bar and restaurant. Surprise your loved one with a trip to this gem, or take a pampering trip with friends.
Situated on the banks of Giudecca Island just a 4-minute boat ride from St Mark's Square, the property has spectacular views of the lagoon.
Bauer De Pisis restaurant serves a sophisticated menu in the elegant surroundings of the dining room, with views facing the Grand Canal. Or choose Ulivo and enjoy Venetian food in the beautiful setting of the sun-filled gardens.
The rooms at the Bauer Palladio Hotel have warm, traditional interiors in a grand Venetian style. Each has been individually decorated with an array of fine tapestries, antique furniture, upholstered armchairs and a palette of pastels or warm reds and pinks, depending on the theme. The Italian marble en-suite bathrooms have baths with showers; many also have walk-in showers, some of the suites have Jacuzzi tubs, and others have small private balconies. Most offer views over the lagoon or the gardens.
The stylish Bauer Palladio Spa offers a range of treatments and massages using modern technologies and natural products. It also has a king-size Turkish hammam, double Jacuzzi and Vitalis multi-bath system. There are 8 treatment rooms and guests can relax after a treatment in the chill-out area which overlooks St. Marks. The tranquil garden is particularly lovely in April, when blooming flowers create an ‘Oriental carpet’ effect, once a famous feature of Venetian gardens, but now becoming increasingly rare.
When you’re ready to venture out of the peaceful calm of Giudecca Island, take the complimentary shuttle boat across the Grand Canal and spend the day exploring and shopping. The 24-hour concierge are happy to arrange boat tours, walking tours, theatre tickets, restaurant bookings, and transfers.
