Ellenborough Park is a family-friendly, 61-room luxury hotel in the Cotswolds consisting of a group of honey stone buildings set around a historic manor house. Dating back to the early 1500s and just 2 miles from the Regency city of Cheltenham, the grand structure has a private track through the grounds to the racecourse entrance. Refurbished by designer Rachel Eaton, the fresh interiors enhance the property's rich heritage and appeal to guests of all ages. There's an all-year-round swimming pool and a tranquil spa, plus plenty of space for weekend weddings and midweek business meetings so that other guests barely notice.

Four-legged friends are welcome in certain rooms.

    Dining

The bar area features an extensive and eclectic choice of drinks including Ellenborough Park's very own gin. Or take your G&T and relax in open-plan lounge space The Atrium. Pooches are welcome there too, as well as the Horse Box, a dog-friendly, casual dining option that's open 7 days a week. Designed in the style of a country pub, its relaxed, cosy feel is the perfect place after a country romp.

If you're after a special dining experience, head to The Restaurant, a spot serving up seasonal, refined modern British fare. Feast on inventive creations such as braised oxtail with salt-baked swede and horseradish ice-cream, roast cep and parsley risotto with pine nuts, Tunworth cheese, and périgord truffle, and créme bruleé with toffee jelly. Note: closed on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Guests can also enjoy Afternoon Tea in the Great Hall, where an array of sandwiches and treats are carefully tiered, ranging from free-range egg mayo and soaked salmon to blood orange sachertorte and rhubarb fool. Upgrade to the champagne options for just £7 extra.
