Sitting in a 14-hectare estate surrounded by bio-certified vines, olive groves and cypress trees, Borgo Romantico is an enchanting property that dates back to the 1800s. Beautifully restored, it also boasts views of Mount Baldo and the Garda hills. You'll find this tranquil countryside retreat between Cavaion and Calmasino, just a few minutes from Lake Garda and half an hour from the city of Verona, the setting of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
The 24 rooms are tastefully decorated, and there's also a large swimming pool set among the olive trees, a sauna, lounge and bar. There's a strong focus on sustainability too: the wine and olive oil that's produced is organic, and a smart photovoltaic system is used to generate power.
The team of staff have great respect for nature and the beauty of the estate; their aim is to share that with guests. As you wander through the scenic grounds, keep an eye out for wildlife such as pheasants and hares.
Please note: the sauna is currently closed.
There's no on-site restaurant as such, but the wine bar does offer regional delights such as cold cuts and cheeses, and local tipples – enjoy out on the veranda or poolside. Although the kitchen is not available to guests, the hotel does organise excellent cooking classes on request.
The village of Cavaion is just a short walk away, and home to eateries such as Pizzeria La Rosa, Enoteca Corte Torcolo, and Ristorante Locanda Centrale. For fine dining, Michelin-starred Ristorante Oseleta is a 5-minute drive from the hotel.
The spacious and airy rooms are beautifully decorated with handcrafted furniture; original features such as wooden beams and Red Verona marble have been retained. They also feature photographs of the countryside and various places around the world, highlighting the fact that the owners and staff enjoy travelling as much as their guests. Some bedrooms have a terrace with countryside views, others overlook the courtyard or the vines. Choose a superior suite and enjoy a 2-bed space decorated in shades of green and vistas to the garden.
Please note: Superior Doubles and Suites can accommodate 2 adults and 1 infant OR 2 adults and 1 child (max 3 pax).

Relax out on the lawn under the shade of a cypress tree, or grab a lounger by the pool, where you’ll also find a hydromassage area, a shallow-water beach zone, solar showers, a bar, and a gazebo. On-site winery Le Tende is the place for tastings; vineyards beyond the estate can also be recommended if you’re keen to sample more.
